We just stayed in a "Villa" for the first time, as our 3rd trip to Gouldings. The "villa" area looked like a lot of little cabins built down the hill, past the Chevron, closer to the valley floor. Each cabin had a space to park, so they were close but not right up against each other. It was great having a larger place to spread out. The porch was very cute and had a nice view of the valley (though not as good as up the hill at the main lodge and restaurant). The bed was very comfortable, with lots of pillows. The heat was loud, but strong, so it woke us up a bit but we were never cold. The kitchen all worked great and was well supplied. We liked having a small dining and sitting area. The shower worked just fine, and had nice biodegradable toiletries, but wasn't fancy. The main reason we chose the villa was we didn't like the noise at the lodge, and the quite at the villa exceeded our expectations! It was much quieter than staying at the main lodge, where people come and go at all hours and the soundproofing isn't great. Here in the villa, there was just a little traffic noise in the distance (especially what we figure out was a cow catcher which made a vibrating noise when cars drove over it at speed). We did not hear people arrive during the night to the little cabin next to ours (they weren't there when we went to bed at 11pm, but a car was there in the morning, so they drove up and moved in without waking us up).

Our stay at Goulding's Trading Post was truly delightful. We spent one night in a first-floor room that featured a lovely balcony with a breathtaking view. The room was impeccably clean and equipped with everything we needed, making our stay comfortable and hassle-free. One of the highlights was waking up early to watch the sunrise right from our balcony—a peaceful start to our day before we set out to explore the valley on our own. We were equally impressed by the staff. From the friendly and polite front desk team to the overall courteous service throughout the property, every interaction left a positive impression. Additionally, the property offers a wonderful array of amenities: a fascinating museum, a cozy cinema, a charming souvenir shop, and a restaurant that not only serves delicious Native American-inspired cuisine but also boasts excellent service and great prices. We highly recommend Goulding's Trading Post for anyone looking to enjoy a unique and memorable stay with a perfect blend of comfort, culture, and hospitality.

When I booked there was limited availability. On their website it states One bedroom villas has a private patio with views of Monument Valley, so I booked this option. On arrival, the villa was located in the middle of other villas with no views. We returned to reception to ask for a villa with a view. The receptionist advised that due to booking through a third party, a view was not requested. After much to-ing and fro-ing and being told we couldn’t move due to the property being overbooked, a supervisor/manager became involved and we were moved to a cheaper queen sized lodge room but again due to booking through a third party, we were not entitled to a refund on the price. The queen sized room was comfortable and clean and the view from the balcony was worth the move. We were also closer to the restaurant, pool and other amenities. If you are only here for one night, go the cheaper lodge option if you can as all the rooms have a view of Monument Valley.

The cabin was clean, comfortable, well appointed with comfortable beds, a sofa bed, table, patio for sitting out and admiring the view - and the kitchenette had everything one would need for a stay of several days - except an oven, as I found when I brought a frozen pizza back from the grocery! The service and staff were exceptional - and the housekeeper went to the trouble of obtaining our contact information and calling us immediately after checkout to let us know that we had left medication in the room. The front staff happily arranged to ship it to us! The grocery and gas station right on the property were super convenient, and of course what can one say about the views of Monument Valley except they were spectacular. I would thoroughly recommend Goulding's to anyone planning on traveling through Monument Valley!

We loved it. We stayed in our own cabin and my husband and I had the bedroom and our two adult children stayed in the room with a pull out bed and a queen sized bed. We were all comfortable. There was a kitchen, but we only used the fridge to keep things from our cooler cold. Meals were at the excellent restaurant and everything was delicious. We had an issue with our bath not draining and we called and they were there in 5 minutes to fix it! Couldn't ask for a better staff, and certainly the location is amazing-close to Monument Valley park and easy access by car. There is a gift shop, museum and restaurant on site that helped fill in the time and give everyone a different way to enjoy themselves. Family feeling among the staff too.
